This amazing Chandelier is labeled by Lightolier, which was designed by Gerald Thurston. This Chandelier is crafted of solid brass, brushed finish in some areas and dull finish in others, which accents off eachother great. The hull of the Chandelier is lined in Teak, which offers a drastic grain throughout. Six Atomic styled brass sockets line the entire parameter of this light, and standard sized light bulbs twist within. This light is in really exceptional condition, considering its age. Although you’ll find minor expected wear from use, as well as patina on the brass finish. This Chandelier comes with its origonal mounting bracket, as well as the ceiling plate – Ready to hang! The wiring is original, and is all in tact as it should be. The light hangs 8 inches from the ceiling, although adding a longer chain to hang it lower would be fairly simple.
*History on the Lightoiler Company*
Founded in 1904 in New York and family-operated through most of its history, Lightolier was one of the pioneering American electric lighting companies, best known for its embrace of stylistic and technical innovations. Collectors focus on lighting fixtures produced from the 1950s and into the Seventies, when an in-house design team led by Gerald Thurston—and a stellar cast of international design contributors—created an array of practical yet aesthetically lively table and floor lamps, sconces and chandeliers.
