In Balinese Mythology, Barong was a Devil-Panther like creature who was named King of the Spirits and said to be the host of all good. This mask is carved of 1 piece of wood, which is very impressive. It is paint painted throughout and wired to hang on the wall. The colors are vibrant, and it give off an eclectic appearance once hung. This mask is in great shape with the exception of 2 top teeth of the mask which had a chip, as shown in our photo gallery.
