A French Rococo Repousse Brass Umbrella Holder, France, c.1930’s. This stand is crafted of wood, which is finished in brass. The brass is hammered and formed to show exceptional detail, this method is often referred to as Repousse. Each side of the piece shows a Goddess Figure with traditional motifs throughout. The brass is nicely aged, some areas showing patina, wear and oxidization. This piece is very well made and stands sturdy – This makes a great display piece. The underside is marked “France” in brass.
