A Tessellated Horn Footed Jewelry (or Humidor) Box, United States, c.1980. This box looks exceptional, it contrasts any interior it’s paired with. This box could be used to hold jewelry, trivets, currency or even used as a humidor. This is the perfect piece to display on a dresser top, console table, or server top. The piece displays a stunning tessellated black and white pattern, completely out of horn. The horn shows a beautiful natural grain, the white shows hues of yellow while the black shows hues of gray. The domed top is nicely hinged and opens and closes as it should. The large iron latch would accommodate a deco lock, it latches nicely. The inside of the box is lined in black velvet, it’s in rather good condition. The box stands on four brass claw feet, the feet are quaint in size and pairs nicely. Overall, this piece is in very nice condition, mild wear is shown and includes surface scratches.
