A Victorian Mahogany Cane Seat Corner Chair crafted by Heywood Wakefield, United States, c.1890. This Chair is a great example of the level of craftsmanship Heywood Wakefield produced during the Late 19th Century into the Turn of the Century. This Chair shows a deep Victorian influence, although this piece would compliant an array of interiors. The mahogany shows a rich finish with a handsome grain throughout. The cane work is amazing and redone during the Mid 20th Century. The underside of the chair is unmarked or signed.
Condition:
This Chair was exceptionally well made, its a solid piece. It was professionally refinished during the Mid 20th Century. Mild scratches and blemishes are shown.
