An Art Deco Bentwood Cane Seat Settee by Thonet, Austria, c.1910. This piece would look exceptional while on display in an array of interior styles. This Settee is the perfect example of the quality of work Thonet produced during the Late 19th into the Early 20th. The solid birch shows a drastic grain throughout with bentwood accenting. The backrests shows a traditional art deco “fountain” motif in a double back manner. The full caned seat is in great condition without any major holes or tears. This piece is light in weight and comfortably seats two. The underside of the piece shows the original Thonet paper label along with the “Austria” stamp.
Condition:
This piece is in good condition with mild wear shown. Wear includes minor repairs, surface scratches and chips. This is circled in our photo gallery to reference.
