A Neoclassical Walnut Lyre Back Settee with Cane Seat, Italy, c. Mid 20th Century. This piece would look exceptional while on display in an array of interior styles. This piece is crafted of solid walnut with a drastic grain shown throughout. The deep original finish shows its age nicely. This Settee comfortably seats 3 and shows a stunning triple lyre motif backrest. The seat shows three caned panels, each have nice tension and offer great support. The styled arm rests and legs adds extra flare and looks great from all angles. The underside of the piece is marked “Made in Italy”.
Condition:
This piece was exceptionally well made, it stands sturdy and solid without any wobble. Areas of patina could be seen along the back of the piece, it shows its age nicely. Surface scratches, finish blemishes and minor chips are shown. The piece is in overall good condition.
