An Arts & Crafts Quartersawn Oak 2-Drawer File Cabinet by Weis, United States, c.1910. This piece would look exceptional while on display in an array of interior styles. The Two Drawer design is extremely versatile and doesn’t take up a tremendous amount of wall space. The solid oak construction shows a drastic grain throughout, accompanied by it’s deep original finish. Each drawer opens and closes as it should and shows a handsome raised panel face. The aged brass catalog plate and drawer pull are stunning. The inside of each drawer is very clean and includes the cedar backstop, which is fully adjustable to the depth of the drawer. The original Weis logo can be seen small on the front of the piece.
Condition:
This File Cabinet was exceptionally well made, its both solid and sturdy. The piece is rich in age and shows it nicely, you will find mild surface scratches, finish blemishes and small chips. A split in the wood is shown upon top, it doesn’t appear to jeopardize the strength of the top.
