An Arts & Crafts Quartersawn Oak Hall Tree Bench with Mirror, Untied States, c.1920. This Hall Tree would look exceptional while on display in an array of interior styles. The solid oak shows a drastic quartersawn grain throughout, accompanied by a deep finish. The Hall Tree is nicely designed, showing a full beveled mirror back, surrounded by four aged brass coat (or hat) hooks. The top of the mirror displays a handsome carved motif, it’s very unique. The bench bottom shows styled arms and legs, and shows a flip seat top with storage within – It’s quite spacious inside. The piece is unsigned or marked.
Condition:
This Hall Tree was exceptionally well made, it stands solid and sturdy. The mirrors backing was replaced with cardboard, instead of wood, the mirror is not loose, and does not rattle while being moved. Mild surface scratches, finish blemishes and minor chips can be seen from age.
