A Traditional Oxblood Leather Tufted Chesterfield Sofa, United States, c. Mid 20th Century. This Sofa would look exceptional while on display in an array of interior styles. The top grain authentic oxblood leather is nicely aged and well broken in. The deep oxblood tone makes for a great focal or contrasting piece in an interior. The Sofa shows the traditional Chesterfield tufted backrest, arms and bottom cushion, accompanied by brass nail head accenting. The bottom shows exposed oak legs, which lifts the sofa ever so much off the ground, the oak shows a drastic grain matched with a rich finish. The sofa has exceptional support and is comfortable to be seated in, there aren’t any “soft spots” or areas of sag. This Sofa is unmarked or signed, although it was crafted by Longhorn Leather Company.
Condition:
This Sofa was exceptionally well made, its solid, sturdy and heavy. The leather is aged and broken in, areas of wrinkles and crevasses is shown from age. The leather was recently conditioned although it was not deep cleaned, mild debris can be seen within select button tufts. A select few button tops are missing from the tuft areas, about two are missing from the seat top. Scuffs and small puncture holes are circled in our photo gallery to reference.
