A Southwestern Cowhide Steer Horn Chair, United States, c. Early 20th Century. This Chair would look exceptional while on display in an array of interior styles. The Chair features complete Steer Horn construction with an authentic calf’s hide seat. This Chair makes for the perfect display piece in a lodge, ranch or safari room. The piece was professionally refinished in its entirety – Likely the best example and sturdiness of its kind. Each horn was filled with fiberglass resin before reattaching for clear coat. The resin not only adds weight to the chair, it provides the highest level of structure support that most authentic Antique Horn Chairs would typically lack. The genuine calf’s hide shows a stunning pattern in a dark brown tone, the bottom of the hide shows exposed deco brass nail heads which contrasts nicely. The same hide is upholster along the backrest horn.
