A Victorian Brass Bird Motif Fireplace Footman, United States, c. Mid 20th Century. This Footman would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. This Footman would look perfect paired next to a fireplace; The practical design could also serve as a traditional footrest or indoor plant stand. The pierced brass top shows a wonderful bird motif in stunning detail. The pair of ribbon tailed birds are shown in a scenery of foliage, branches and fruit. This Footman was purchased out of a Palm Beach Estate, the motif really tied the Palm Beach atheistic together nicely. The styled legs would support a generous amount of weight added and modernized screws were replaced along the underside for longevity. The underside is unsigned or marked.
