A Pair of Black Forest Walnut “Fruits of the Hunt” Bird Wall Plaques, c. Late 19th Century. This Pair of Wall Plaques would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid walnut shows a drastic grain throughout, accompanied by a deep finish. The finish pairs nicely with many Black Forest and Victorian pieces of this era. Each Plaque displays a Pair of heavily detailed game birds, after the hunt. The full relief carved bird motif adds sensational dimension, it’s a great look from all angles. The oversized oval plaque could be displayed upon a surface top, or hung on the wall – There isn’t any mounting hardware on the backside. A signature or makers mark could not be found on each.
