A Traditional Burl Walnut Storage Box with Brass Strapping, c. Early 20th Century. This Storage Box would look exceptional while hung in an array of interior styles. The solid walnut is finished in a drastic burled walnut veneer, it’s both nicely aged and drastic. This Box was originally a writing slope, which has been stripped of its interior writing surfaces. The hinged top opens and closes as it should, a space is shown along the sides and back from replacing the hinges. While the hinges aren’t original, they’re true to its era. The box shows decorative brass strapping, corner ormolu and a blank monogram plate – The brass contrasts perfect off the burled veneer. The interior includes a nice amount of storage space. There isn’t a key included, the box remains unlocked. This box is unsigned or marked.
