A French Bronze Bacchus Cherub Grapevine Motif Sculpture, c. Early 20th Century. This Bronze Sculpture would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The bronze is nicely aged throughout, it’s finished in an original blackened lacquer. The two charming boys in Bacchus fashion are shown playing along a grapevine, the motif is heavily detailed with stunning expression. The elongated oval base shows bare bronze, which offers perfect contrast below the sculpture. The sculpture weighs just over 20lbs. It is unsigned or marked.
Condition:
This Bronze Sculpture was exceptionally well made, areas of tarnishing and patina are shown from age. A small set screw is missing along the backside of the top cherubs arm, this doesn’t jeopardize the sculpture, as the arm is snug. We’ve circled this area in our photo gallery to reference.
