A Victorian Carved Walnut Desk Set Inkwell with Storage Box, c. Late 19th Century. This Desk Set would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid walnut Base and Storage Box shows a drastic grain throughout, accompanied by a deep satin finish. The Base includes two recessed areas, one for resting pens and the other for the inkwell cup. The front of the base displays a lovely spoon carved motif. The storage box is attached to the base, it displays Early American dowel tendon construction sides. The hinged top opens and closes as it should, the top shows a stunning carved motif. The interior is clean and spacious enough to store accessories, library cards, valuables or a collection alike. The glass inkwell cup isn’t original, but suits the set well, this is Early 20th Century glass. This set is unsigned or marked.
