An Eastlake Victorian Walnut Drop Front Secretary Desk, c. Late 19th Century. This Walnut Drop Front Secretary would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid walnut shows an aged deep finish which pairs nicely with many periods. Throughout the Secretaries design, you’ll enjoy raised panels, burled veneers, and reeded accenting. The Drop Front area opens and closes as it should, a key is included to drop the surface down, since there isn’t a handle, the locks do not operate. The secretaries interior leads you to a spacious writing surface, accessory drawers and pigeon hole file cubbies. The chest of the piece includes a single drawer which is embellished with aged brass pulls. This drawer opens and closes as it should and shows early pin & scallop joinery, dating this piece earlier than 1900. The bottom of the piece offers open shelf storage, which is accompanied by two storage doors. The Secretary stands on original casters, each rolls smooth.
