A Victorian Stick & Ball Heavily Carved Rocking Chair, c. Late 19th Century. This Rocking Chair would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid maple frame shows a drastic grain throughout, accompanied by a deep satin finish. This finish pairs nicely with many period style pieces alike. The Chairs Backrest is guarded by a pair of Figural Swan Heads, which are hand carved along the top side members. You’ll enjoy an array of aged tooled leather panels, which lines the entire backrest, each row of panels shows a repeated motif of a figural griffin and floral details – both surrounded by traditional accenting. The tooled leather panels are separated by reeded accenting and a Stick & Ball motif. The seat was professionally reupholstered, using a black pebbled vinyl and aged brass deco nail heads. The vinyl is hand selected and of a very high quality and durability. The underside of the Chair is unsigned or marked.
