A Neoclassical American Empire work table in mahogany, finished in a burl crotch mahogany with two drawers with convex fronts. This is a Mid 19th Century gem, likely 1840’s from the upper North East. The table’s top rests on sculpted carved wood pillars over a quatre-from base. This Table was likely refinished at some point in the pieces life, although it was not done recently. The table shows signs of veneer repairs, minor chips and finish blemishes. The table is exceptionally sturdy – It was very well made. The drawers show early American dovetails, each open and close as they should.
