Antique Art Nouveau Tin Metal Whitman’s Chocolate Box with Alfonse Mucha Zodiac

This Decorative Tin was put out by Whitman’s Chocolate during the 1920’s. This Tin originally carried 1lb of premium chocolate candies, although it makes a wonderful accessory or trinket box. This particular tin was in collaboration with Alfons Mucha, who is well known for his iconic Art Nouveau pieces of artwork. This particular tin displays Mucha’s “Zodiac” motif, as well as the Whitman’s logo. Considering its age, the graphic is in wonderful shape with wear shown. There is a slight curve to the top which causes the tin to stay slightly ajar (shown in photos). The tin is vibrant and very clean for its age, within the inside of the tin you’ll find mild surface rust and a vented bottom.
