An Arts & Crafts Quartersawn Oak Wine Liquor Cabinet, United States, c. Early 20th Century. This Liquor Cabinet would look exceptional while on display in an array of interior styles. The overall unique design serves as a great conversation piece. The solid oak shows a drastic quartersawn grain throughout accompanied by a deep finish. The double door top chest shows a stunning recessed panel motif upon each door. Within, you’ll enjoy a two shelves along with bottle storage on the inside of each door. The chest below opens to reveal a top storage shelf followed by glass holders on each side with a large center rotating bottle caddy. This rotating caddy is unique and completely crafted of wood – This fits 4 wine or liquor bottles. The styled legs are a great touch and are exceptionally sturdy. The backside of the piece is marked Frederick Loeser & Co, this is not the manufatures, this was the retail store that carried this piece. Frederick Loeser was monumental landmark in Brooklyn NY, it was Brooklyn’s largest department store up until closing in the 1950’s.
Condition:
This piece is in very nice condition, it was professionally refinished at some point in the pieces life. Mild surface scratches and minor chips are shown from age. It’s a sturdy and solid piece without any wobble. We do not have the keys to lock the top and bottom doors, they remain unlocked. We would suggest after receiving this piece, to unscrew the back of the locks and taking it to a locksmith to have keys made up – The top right door will easily open if not locked.
