An Eastlake Victorian Cast Iron Inkwell Letter Holder, United States, c.1890. This Inkwell Letter Holder is crafted of cast iron and shows stunning motifs throughout. The swallow bird backrest and sides are unique and looks great from all sides. This piece shows a green lacquered finish which isn’t original, although shows age – This was likely done during the Early 20th Century. The refillable glass inkwell is missing, although we’re including a vintage bottle of Pelikan ink from Germany as a placement holder. The backside shows an area to hold letters or envelopes.
Condition:
This piece was exceptionally well made and stands solid upon a desktop. Surface wear is shown including areas of missing paint and patina.
