Antique Empire Heavily Carved Flame Mahogany Settee Sofa with Lion Paw Feet

This hand carved mahogany sofa stems from the mid to late 19th Century, between 1850 and 1870. This sofa perfectly displays the transition from Empire to Victorian periods. It’s absolutely lavish in detail, extremely well made and heavy in weight. This sofa is crafted of solid mahogany and finished in a drastic flame mahogany veneer. The finish does show signs of its age, although it was professionally refinished at some point in its life. All four feet display heavily detailed lion paws, possibly the nicest of its kind! The upholstery is new along with the tassels, and includes 2 matching pillows, all professionally done.
