Compliment your Estates Library, Home Office, Living or Dining area with this exceptional English Barley Twist Bookcase Curio. This piece is crafted of solid oak, with a quartered veneer finish. The finish shines up great, and was well preserved in it’s previous estate. Two large Oak Barley Twist columns guards the sides of your front glass panels; Followed by the middle center door, which is slightly curved. Keeping the original key (included) inside the door makes opening and closing the door easy, as it lacks a front pull. Within the piece, you’ll find 4 large oak shelves, all of which are removable and can be noticed front all angles of the piece. The carved top crown motif is stunning, and compliments the Barley Twist sides well. Similar carved motifs were often seen on earlier English Art Deco pieces, apart of the Utility Furniture Movement. As the piece may have been professionally refinished at some point in the pieces life – It’s hard to say. You will find expected wear, which includes surface scratches, minor chip and blems to the finish, all of which is shown in our photo gallery.
