A Regency Hammered Brass Clawfoot Fireplace Box, England, c. Early 20th Century. This Chest would look exceptional while displayed near a Fireplace in an array of interior styles. The Box is crafted of solid wood, which is finished in brass plate. The brass is nicely aged, showing a tarnished charm. The surface shows a hammered motif throughout, it adds nice texture to an overall traditional design. The Box was likely used as a kindling box next to a fireplace. The hinged top opens and closes as it should, the top shows decorative strapping as well as a large brass latch to add an optional lock. A modernized chain was added to the inside of the lid to add less stress to the hinges for longevity. The box stands on 4 drastic claw feet – They look absolutely stunning. This piece is unmarked or signed.
