A Primitive Farmhouse Pierced Tin Carriage Foot Warmer, United States, c. Late 19th Century. Carriage Foot Warmer would make an exceptional display piece in an array of interior styles. The wooden frame is rich in age, showing Early American joinery and hand turned side members. The interior tin box is pierced on all sides and has a single latch access door along front. The interior was used to hold hot coals and to be placed on the floor of a carriage to warm your feet during the cold month – Lots of history associated with this piece. The underside is unmarked or signed.
