An Antique Farmhouse Slant Top Writing Desk, crafted in the United States circa late 1800’s. This piece has so much character, it would compliment a Farmhouse inspired interior perfectly. This piece was likely a Schoolhouse Desk, you’ll notice over a century’s worth of carved markings, scribbles and letters. This piece was refinished long ago, although when being refinished, the areas of markings were lightly sanded over to preserve its history. These markings are smooth to the touch and cant be felt on the surface. The hinged slant top shows an aged brown leather top, as well as an indentation for writing utensils and an ink well. The slant top lifts up to reveal a nice amount of storage space. The piece stands on four hand turned legs, the overall design is stunning. This piece was very well made and stands sturdy, it could be used as an everyday piece.
