A Rococo Walnut Kidney Leather Top Writing Desk, France, c. Early 20th Century. This Writing Desk would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid walnut shows a drastic grain throughout, accompanied by burled veneer accents. The Kidney Top is nicely styled and includes the original oxblood leather top. While the top is heavily aged and shows wear, it still lays flat and adds nice character. The Desk includes three spacious drawers, all of which open and close as they should and includes aged brass pulls. The middle drawer shows an ornate cast brass escutcheon cover and includes the original key to lock the drawer. The desk stands on four reeded legs, all legs are exceptionally sturdy and show matching brass bottom covers. The desk features a finished back. The underside of the desk is stamped France, very small.

Condition:

This Desk was exceptionally well made, it’s both solid and sturdy. Mild surface scratches, finish blemishes and small chips are shown from age.
