Antique Georgian Victorian Heavily Carved Mahogany Drop Front Secretary with Bookcase Top

This stunning 19th Century Secretary featuring hand carved details throughout. The piece is crafted of solid mahogany, with a drastic grain throughout. The drop front secretary area opens and closes as it should, and rests upon 2 pull out solid wood supports on each side of the bottom. Within the secretary you’ll find a tremendous amount of storage and surface area. Never have we come across a secretary with so many hidden compartments, practically every carved embellishment and area pulls out, along with your standard small drawers and middle cubbie door. The top bookcase includes 2 shelves and its original beveled glass. The wood motif on each bookcase door is a great touch, you will find mild wear and small cracks from age, although they are all in tact. The bottom chest includes 5 drawers, all of which open and close as they should, and include full matching aged brass pulls. This piece is very heavy and solid wood, the bookcase top lifts off the bottom secretary. This piece was refinished at some point in the pieces life, although it was not refinished recently, as it does show wear from age. You will find surface scratches, chips and mild blems.
