Sarouk rugs are hand woven in Iran, in the small village of Sarouk, given the name! 90% of Sarouk Persian Rugs were made for the American Market, starting in the early to mid 1920’s. Typically, true Sarouk rugs are smaller in size and are usually seen with a vibrant red base with a deep navy boarder, just as this one! This 4×2 Sarouk does show wear throughout, unfortunately you’ll find areas of missing frays along with crease damage to the parameter, although there are no holes in the body of the rug! The rug has been fully cleaned and is ready to lay in your estate.
