Antique Large Industrial Americana Advertising Scale by W.S Meyer Newark

This Antique Scale would look stunning mounted on a wall or on display a large shelf – It screams Americana! This Scale was out of the W.S Meyer Scale Manufacturing Plant in Newark, New Jersey. The solid wood base displays a stunning aged finish, both sides of the scale include the original painted W.S Meyer logo. The cast iron scale supports the cross members, the scale reads up to 18,000 pounds. Each weight glides across each section smoothly and includes the original cast iron weight hook. We’re unsure what this scale was made to weigh, or how it was displayed – It most likely sat on a large iron base. Due to its size and the materials it’s made of, this scale is exceptionally heavy, it requires two people to lift. You’ll notice wear from age, although the piece is in really nice condition and makes a wonderful conversation piece.
