This stunning Cabinet would have been made for sheet music, although it suits vinyl records perfectly! – Collectors, eat your heart out! This piece was crafted by Udell Works, out of Indianapolis between 1927-1932. The company was best known for their superior quality stacking Barrister Bookcases, although miscellaneous bookcases and storage cabinets were produced in smaller numbers.
This piece is solid mahogany, with a drastic grain throughout. The large front storage door, which is embellished with an aged brass latch, leads you to 7 spacious shelf, all of which are removable; Each measures 17 wide x 2.5 tall. Above this area is a small storage drawer. Overall the piece is in great shape for its age, and is extremely sturdy. You will find expected wear, including mild surface scratches, finish blems and small chips.
