A Primitive Farmhouse Pine Raised Panel Machinist Chest, c. Early 20th Century. This Machinist Chest is crafted of solid pine, it’s finished in an aged gray hued lacquer. While this lacquer isn’t original, it’s heavily aged, dating back to the Early 20th Century. The Chest displayed stunning raised panel along each side, as well as brass ormolu corner mounts. The forged black steel side handles are quite heavy, and would support a tremendous amount of weight once the chest is filled. The box does show an original brass escutcheon, although the lock is gutted – The Chest remains unlocked.
