A Renaissance Revival Carved Beechwood Tufted Savonarola Chair with Lions Head Motif, c. Early 20th Century. This Chair would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid Beechwood shows a drastic grain throughout, accompanied by a light satin finish. This finish pairs nicely with many period style pieces. The “bucket style” seat is newly upholstered in a black pebbled vinyl. This vinyl is top quality and extremely durable, showing a stunning button tuft. This cushion is attached to the chair. Each arm rest shows a carved lions head motif, it’s quite drastic. The backrest shows carved traditional accenting – Down to the cabriole legs. The underside of the Chair is unmarked or signed.
Condition:
This Chair was exceptionally well made, it’s both solid and sturdy. The cushion top was newly professionally reupholstered, and is flawless. The chairs finish shows surface scratches and minor blemishes. A small carved accent is missing along the front left leg, this area is circled in our photo gallery to reference.
