A Renaissance Revival Heavily Carved Oak Bookcase Cabinet with Figural Head Motifs, c. Early 20th Century. This Bookcase would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid oak shows a drastic quartersawn grain throughout, accompanied by a deep satin finish. The double glass doors are guarded by a pair of carved figural busts along each side. The busts appear to be Pan, the mythological God of Nature – Half Goat/Half Human. Each bust is accompanied by foliage and traditional motifs, they’re heavily detailed and fine in quality. The Pair of glass doors open and close as they should, it includes the original key to lock the area. The interior displays 3 height adjustable solid oak shelves. The backside of this piece is unsigned or marked.
