This Secretary Desk is hand crafted of solid walnut, with a drastic grain throughout. It’s bold features, yet quaint in size makes this piece perfect for an estates library or office, and small enough for an apartment. This secretary is an early 19th Century piece, and could possibly have been refinished at some point in the pieces life, although if it was – It wasn’t done recently. This secretary is extremely sturdy, solid and heavy and offers storage at its best. The drop front opens and rests on 2 pull out walnut pieces; The fronts of these 2 pieces show wear. There’s a nice amount of surface space, as well as 2 small drawers and cubbies. Beneath the secretary area are 4 stacking drawers, all of the drawers open and close as they should, and the inside of each drawer is clean. The exotic veneer used within the drawers is lovely, and adds a nice flare. Each drawer is embellished with wood knob pulls, it appears 3 of the knobs were replaced with similar aged knobs of the same size. You will find expected wear throughout from age, including scratches, minor chips and blems.
