This Victorian Aquarium was crafted in U.S. during the Early 20th Century. We’ve obtained many authentic Aquariums by J.W Fiske in previous years; As this aquarium isn’t by Fiske, it admires similar qualities found in Fiske pieces. This aquarium would hold 5 gallons of water, although we would highly recommend running a bead of silicone on all corners if you plan on filling it. It does appear two of the glass panels have been replaced, the other two are original. The complete aluminum frame shows an aged finish with scratches shown throughout, the cast claw feet are drastic and contrasts off the frame nicely. The frame and feet were once lacquered in red which was removed at some point in its life, reminisce of the lacquer shows in small select areas. The full slate bottom has naturally aged nicely and does not show any cracks or splits. Two small hinges have been welded to the back of the tanks frame, there appears to have been a custom made hinged lid at some point, this was not original to the piece. You will find scratches and finish blems throughout, although we’d say the piece is in really nice condition – A great conversation piece!
