This Victorian Blanket Chest was crafted during the 1930’s, better known as the “Depression Era”. The solid wood construction makes this chest exceptionally sturdy, its heavy for its size. The chest is finished in a walnut veneer, some areas showing match box accenting and drastic burl. The large top surface offers great display storage and is accompanied by an ornate backrest. This area lifts up to reveal tremendous storage area within, completely lined in cedar wood. The inside appears to have been seldom used, its in fantastic condition. Throughout the piece, you’ll find mild wear including surface scratches, finish blemishes and small chips, all of which is circled in our photo gallery for reference.
