Antique Victorian Carved Walnut Etagere Whatnot Shelf

This exceptional piece was straight out of a Socialites estate in Dallas, Pennsylvania. This Antique Etagere, sometimes refereed to as a “Whatnot Shelf” is an American Victorian classic, circa 1890’s. The piece is crafted of solid walnut, with a drastic grain throughout. Each shelf decreases by size upon each tier, making the piece stunning by design. The back of each tier’s shelf displays a ornate carved motif, along with half spindles. This piece is extremely sturdy and well made, it was also most likely refinished at some point in the pieces life, although it was not recent if so.
