A Victorian Cast Iron Wall Hanging Mirror with Dolphin Motif, c. Early 20th Century. This Wall Mirror would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The mirrors frame is heavily sculpted, crafted of solid cast iron. The cast iron is finished in an original gold lacquer, which offers perfect contrast while hung. The frame is decorated throughout with traditional Victorian motifs, accompanied by a drastic top urn guarded by two dolphins. This mirror likely had a candle holder along the bottom of the frame, a small hole indicates it once had additional hardware – This hole can be used to securely fasten the mirror to the wall using brass screws. The backside includes a small hanging loop. The original beveled glass mirror shows mild silver-loss from age.
