A Victorian Mahogany Mirrored Drop Front Secretary, United States, c. Early 20th Century. This Secretary would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The mahogany shows a drastic grain throughout, accompanied by an aged red satin finish. The large drop front area is perfect for writing or laptop use. The drop front opens and closes as it should and includes modernized brass hinges for longevity. The interior shows a series of different sized pigeon holes as well as a single accessory drawer. The drop front is faced with a stunning carved motif as well as a brass escutcheon with a key included to lock this area. The mirrored back includes its original beveled glass, the frame is nicely sculpted and shows a timeless motif along top. The single drawer along the bottom of the piece includes two aged brass Victorian pulls as well as a matching brass escutcheon, the key which locks the drop front does not lock this drawer. The drawer opens and closes as it should and shows early dovetailed sides. The cabriole legs ties the secretary together nicely. The backside of this piece is unsigned or marked.
