A Victorian Oak Carved Rocking Chair, United States, c. Late 19th Century. This monumental Rocking Chair would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The Chair is crafted of solid oak, accompanied by a deep original finish. The tall backrest of the chair displays a heavily carved transitional motif with stunning lines. The slightly bowed arm rests features a bottom panel which adds a great look from the side view. The seat was professionally reupholstered in a high quality pebbled black vinyl. Aged brass nail head ormolu mounts are shown along the bottom of the cushion. The Chair has not been used since being upholstered. The Chair features sleigh style rocking platforms, which gives the chair a smooth and long rocking motion. The underside of the Chair is unmarked or signed.
