This Victorian Drop Front Secretary Desk was crafted during the Early 20th Century. This Secretary is made of solid oak with a drastic quartersawn grain throughout. The grain practically glows in good lighting. This piece is perfect to incorporate in an array of estate interiors, a very versatile piece! The drop front displays a wood marquetry motif as well as a brass escutcheon keyhole plate. The original key is included, which locks the secretary front. Within the secretary area, you’ll enjoy a large work space, great for working on a laptop or writing. The secretary area greets you with an array of different sized cubbies, an oak faced storage drawer as well as a pen hook holder. Upon top of the secretary includes additional surface space which is lined with a oak railing with brass accenting – This compliments the secretary just nicely. The bottom area of this piece includes one large storage drawer. The drawer shows hand dovetailed sides and opens and closes as it should. This Secretary was refinished at some point in its life, although it was not done recently. All hardware has been replaced with period worthy brass – This piece is preserved great! You will find mild wear to the piece, including surface scratches and minor blems, although we’d say this piece is in very nice condition.
