By far, the most exceptional Garuda Statue we’ve came across thus far! This piece most likely originates from Bali, Indonesia. The statue is hand carved of solid wood, coated with a smooth plaster for a smooth finish then hand painted throughout. You’ll notice the most vibrant colors on this Garuda, which was a notable characteristic of the Garuda’s Mythology. The Garuda is believed to represent birth & heaven, and is the enemy of all snakes. This is all one solid piece, aside from the small tail, which can be removed if desired. The statue shows its age with paint chipping shown, as well as cracks in the wood, which is to be expected with a natural solid wood piece. This is a very heavy and sturdy show piece.
