Large Antique Southeast Asian Wood Carved Statue with Foo Dog Motif

This monumental piece came out of a collectors estate, which featured some of the most stunning and rare Indonesian export pieces carved pieces we’ve seen. This piece is carved of 1 solid piece of wood, which is truly amazing in itself. The piece stands almost 4 foot tall, making this an exceptional focal point / accent piece. This piece displays 4 figures playing musical instruments, along with a Foo Dog motif. All of the carvings are rich in detail, and its a great piece for the eyes to study. The carving is fixed to a solid wood base, which keeps the carving balanced and very sturdy. We’re unsure what type of wood it’s carved from, although it’s a dense and heavy wood, most likely a more exotic wood native to Southeast Asia. Overall the piece is in exceptional condition, there isn’t any cracks or splitting. We’ve noticed small chips from age, notably in the most bottom right figures’ flute instrument (very unnoticeable).
