A Modern Atomic Mushroom Table Lamp Designed by Bill Curry or Laurel Lamp Company, c.1970. This Lamp would look exceptional while displayed in a Mid-Century inspired interior. Curry is often credited for innovating seamless lighting design, in which this two-part lamp becomes a singular sculpture. While this practice in design is commonly seen today – It was ground breaking during the start of the Mid 20th Century. Curry’s in-house collection of Lamps named “Design Line” featured the earliest of Mushroom Shade Motifs. The Laurel Lamp Company later commissioned Curry to design for their own collection during the 1970’s. The Brushed Aluminum base offers sensational contrast to the frosted white shade. While illuminated, the Lamp offers a soft glow which is truly eye-catching. The survival of the shade in its condition is a pleasure to see. The light works off a single function switch, which is shown along the backside. The underside of the lamp is unsigned or marked.
