Thonet has long been known for its craftsmanship and considered design. The company’s patented wood bending process was an important milestone in creating attractive, yet affordable furniture. Founded in Austria during the 19th Century. Thonet later expanded to the United States in 1941. Since then, many influential designers including Mies Van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer have collaborated with Thonet to produce iconic chairs, tables and interiors alike.
