A Sculpted Gold Fabric Settee Sofa Designed by Russel Wright for Thonet, Untied States, c.1950. This Settee would look exceptional while displayed in a Mid-Century inspired interior. The solid beech wood arms are nicely sculpted and flows seamlessly into the angled legs, this was a amongst Russel Wright’s most iconic styles and often refereed to as “Thick Thonet” in today’s culture. The settee displays its original gold upholstered fabric with a lovely center seam. The upholstery is in good condition with only little discoloration from age. The spring seat bottom offers great support and is quite comfortable to be seated on. The underside of the settee is unsigned or marked.
