A Pair of Art Deco Blackamoor Bust Sculptures by Alexander Backer, United States, c.1970. This Pair of Sculptures would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. The solid chalkware is nicely sculpted throughout, it’s finished in an ebony lacquer with a contrasting off-white turban. Each Sculpture mirrors one another, which is ideal for staging. The underside of each piece is felted and includes the original ABCO label. The backside of each piece is also stamped Alexander Backer.
