A Boho Rattan and Cane Storage Chest, Untied States, c.1930. This Chest would look exceptional while on display in a Mid-Century inspired interior. This quaint sized chest is nicely sized to fit smaller items or a collection alike. The solid rattan frame is accompanied by a pine interior, finished in original woven cane – It shows its natural charm along with a clear lacquer for longevity. Each side of the chest shows a stunning geometric motif which is carved of rattan. The flip top opens and closes as it should and leads you into a clean interior for storage. You’ll be surprised how solid the top surface is, it could be used as an ottoman or footrest. The top shows modernized brass hinges and chain to support the weight of the top nicely. The underside is unsigned or marked.
Condition:
This Chest was exceptionally well made, it’s both solid and sturdy. Wear to the woven cane is shown most notably upon the top corners, these areas are circled in our photo gallery to reference.
